Expectations this book will be constrained to the operations of Allan Jones Circuit Pictures and other prominent local pioneering picture-show exhibitors in the South-West region of Western Australia during the early days of the cinema industry may cause some disappointment. The text incorporates information about the evolution of the Australian and overseas motion picture industry as well as a technical description of the equipment used and its operation by our own pioneering Nitrate Nomads. It also includes an occasional relevant personal anecdote by the author.

The story embraces the changing social standards and attitudes of the movie-going community including some colourful language and terminology common at the time. Some may be considered offensive by those infected by the social virus of political correctness. However no apology is offered or made. You should select a less confronting book.
